Atlantic City Master Plan

Working with Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, VCDC produced an extensive urban design plan for theheart of Atlantic City. VCDC produced a series of detailed site analysis diagrams that clarified the opportunities and constraints associated with the existing urban fabric, particularly in terms of the vast swaths of undeveloped and barren territory between the existing casino uses.

VCDC, working in collaboration with the project team, then produced a series of recommendations regarding development sites, connections to the waterfront, transportation links, and new public open space. Critical to these recommendations were the means to implement them, such as the densification of certain neighborhoods through zoning and incentive systems which could in turn help to fund public infrastructure investment.
